Initial Consultation
We offer a free no obligation design consultation. This is where we discuss your ideas, needs and your budget for the work. We can then advise on how the project should be progressed and give details of exactly what is required. It is important at this stage to ask any questions relating to the project and to explore all the design options.
Detailed Laser Survey
Once design and fees are agreed we will carry out a detailed site survey of the existing building. This survey will then be used to create existing drawings of the property. The existing drawings are essential for the preliminary design stage and for obtaining both planning and building regulation approval.
Preliminary Designs
Preliminary drawings will be produced using your initial brief showing the proposed work. Any variations can be made at this point and your design needs are discussed in more detail. Once a final design has been agreed we can move onto the next stage. If required we can produce 3D visualisation drawings of the design.
Planning Application
If a project requires planning permission we will submit the application to the local authorities. We will liaise with them directly during this process and relay any information we receive. Decisions on planning usually take 8 weeks from when the application was submitted. Once planning permission has been granted most projects will require building regulation approval before work can begin on site.
Building Regulations
When planning permission is granted or if stage 4 is not required we will begin the building regulation process. Detailed plans will be drawn up and submitted to the local building control for their approval. Once they have been approved work can begin on site. Although our service does not continue through the construction phase, we will be on hand to answer any queries you have.
